Sam Crass

Sam joined WRS in early 2026 as a Civil Estimator in our Idaho division. His main responsibilities include attending pre-bid meetings, reading project plans and specifications, calculating volumes, quantities, and production rates, and finding and tracking public bid opportunities.

Sam started out in the industry on a survey field crew, and eventually found he wanted to focus on civil preconstruction and estimating. He enjoys solving puzzles, so the career felt like a good fit! Sam likes that every job presents unique challenges that need to be figured out and the risks that need to be assessed. “Every day I learn something new. I am constantly challenged to create solutions and think outside the box.”
