When she isn’t working, you can find Karen spending time with her family, camping, and snowmobiling.
As our People & Benefits Manager, Karen’s primary responsibilities are managing employee relations, interviewing and hiring candidates, staying up to date on current HR laws and regulations, and managing our benefits programs.
Karen started in 2017 as a Timekeeper, moved into a Payroll Administrator role in 2019, and was promoted to People & Benefits Manager in 2024. Her favorite part of this role so far is getting to meet prospective employees, listen to their stories, and learn why they want to be at WRS. She is kind, servant-hearted, and truly wants to see people succeed. It’s no surprise that she says, “If I get to help someone, it’s a good day!”.
Before WRS, Karen had a long and successful career in retail banking. Although she loved serving her customers there, she loves that her time here at WRS has allowed for a better work-life balance.
